Practices for exemplary leadership

Exemplary leadership shows more engaged people in workplace by these five practices
Shape the method: One will define his values and principles first to become a leader. A leader needs to shape the highest level of integrity and professionalism for team members. Setting an example is the most powerful act a leader can do.
Motivate a dream: Keeping the goal in mind and reminding people about painting picture for better future. Visualize career and dream for a long term. It's about creating our future. A few simple yet powerful actions leaders can take to thank and inspire others are daily actions and practices. These activities include thanking each member daily once for contributing in the performance and daily asking himself about the demonstration of the values that a leader hold.
Confront the course: It is undergoing the biggest difficulty to become a successful leader. It is about How you overcome the uncertainty and fear to achieve your best performance. Confront the course does not suggest challenge the existing values or standards. It is about searching and practicing new and improved methods of doing things in order to achieve continual growth. In my previous organization, I used to ask people if they think they are going to meet their goals for the coming years by carrying on to do their work the way they are doing it currently. The answer was no, Without exception. Organizations need more leaders due to this reason.
Facilitate others to perform: Building a spirited team, actively involving others, creating an environment of mutual trust and respect. The level of trust of a leader is determined by his influence and how he is accepted by his team. As leaders, one must always enable members to Act. The key to success is not found in honoring own ego and individual achievements. It is, however, in crafting confidence within the members on whom leaders are depending on for best results.
Support the spirit: Team members want to know how their leaders value them. What a leader is thinking about their job and also if he is not taking them granted. The best leaders want to be liked, and they need openness from other members. They are not just about demonstrating members they can win for the sake of making them feel good. For motivating people to higher criteria of performance, nothing works as powerfully as the recognition of individual attempt and achievement.

Why engagement required for excellence

Individual leaders do not have any impact on the organizations they lead. A successful leader uses his intelligence to see an obstruction and a way to fix it.A successful leader keeps his heart motivated and maintain the courage not to give up on challenges.
Engagement and leadership go hand in hand. Engagement involves in investing hands, head and heart in actively, full work performance. A leader's behavior should be displaying commitment and engaging workforce. The workplace engagement is a result of leadership behavior despite teams differences.
A leader will not question,"Will I make any value add?" The question will be, "What value add I will make?"

The few characteristics mentioned in my last post are further explained below:

1 ) Approach: Exceptional leaders have a very authentic and different approach to a bad situation. Exceptional leaders build trust within the team to that extent where bad situation never occurs. Preventive actions always have an upper hand on corrective actions.

2 ) Team First: When a leader starts putting team members ahead and have a mindset of bringing members on the front, respecting and caring for them the entire environment changes. This will bring amazing results and a motivated team.

3 ) Bigger Visualization: An exceptional leader will always prioritize his vision and will focus on the big picture. The Leader will not get distracted by short and daily challenges in operations. Leaders are active listeners and doesn't have all the answers all the time.

4 ) Continual Development: How will an exceptional leader will ensure effective output? Improvement comes with bettering the performance. Continual improvement comes with sustaining the results and then targeting next ladder.

5 ) Leaders Mind-set: Attitude is the major contributor in developing an individual as leader. You can judge a person by the way he accepts or reacts on a feedback on mistakes or delays.

6 ) Perfectionism in  Leadership:  If you are too much into perfectionism and want to show how perfect you are, it will display your insecurity complex. Failing down never will not make you an exceptional Leader

Leaders VS Managers - Knowing the Difference

Some are born leaders  some grow with analytical abilities with the big pictures work areas their interests, and most importantly virtue and approach.  They use both classic ways and different analytic ability with the big picture in mind. A leader will always acknowledge his team members in a way which not only pertains to work area but also outside activities, their interests, and most important family.
Instances are there where managers may land up shifting blames of the project failure, delay or mistakes to others. A project result can go wrong due to vendors associated or plenty of other reasons working or giving support related to it. This type of blame directly impact and shake the customer or end user confidence in project and organization's brand. It will also endanger future business endeavours.

Initiating a Project will always have its pros and cons so in order to achieve success, the leader will accomplish and learn every single detail of the existing process on the project. This will also help him in gaining team's respect and their approach of comparing classic way and a new path.

Resistance is also an important factor of leadership.
As the first in line the leader has to face challenges when altering or changing the pathway to project completion. Using a clear directive approach the leader needs to instruct the team on what behaviour's they should implement when completing a task. Leader has to teach the team how they supposed to act. Leader will first learn their way to earn their respect. Still if there is a conflict leaders response should be "If you have a better way, we will adhere to it, If not then let's stick to the planned way. Change is not optional, it is the way of life and one should not resist till he has other ways to do it."
