Why Managers need to be Reformed into Leaders

Leaders and managers are believed to be same in the line of performing and completing tasks within the timeline. They both have the qualities that an organization looks for, but still, there is a thin life of difference between them. A good manager always manages to get the work assigned by utilizing resources allotted whereas a leader has to be a manager, who achieve the same by best utilization of resources along with mending  & finding new ways and also by gaining his team's confidence and trust.

A good leader can become the best manager, but all managers cannot be the leaders. For instance, a manager in a production firm will be time bound and result oriented, but will never look for different way or approach to an obstacle occurred in between to have an uninterrupted result.

Why Leaders are required

Leaders acquire the skills as they grow, Objectives should be clear beforehand & must not be forgotten anytime. Knowing core competencies of members & aligning accordingly. For instance, if someone is better at presentation skills, should be made to give presentations. Identifying members passion & assigning him job accordingly. Also, an important factor is knowing best performers & mediocre performer & Putting best on the biggest opportunity. Leader has to keep balance between realistic & aggressive targets.
Challenges faced by leaders are mainly having clear expectations delivered to the team without dominating them. Remaining neutral & capturing ideas accurately, with proper & correct records kept. He should be well aware of records required and not required. Times he has to teach members some necessary skills like time management, problem-solving approach etc.

As Henry Ford Said: "Coming together is a beginning, Staying together is progress, and working together is success."
